Queensland Gas Appeals Tribunal

The Queensland Gas Appeals Tribunal (QGAT) is an independent local appeals body that hears merit appeals from pipeline operators or gas customers on decisions made by the Queensland Competition Authority (the regulator) in relation to distribution pipelines for natural gas.

There are four types of decisions in relation to distribution pipelines for natural gas that may be reviewed:

  • Ring Fencing;
  • Regulator imposed Access Arrangements;
  • Associate Contacts; and
  • Approval of Information Disclosure.
